The Great Cardening of 2009 #1: Philadelphia Phillies

It’s time for the first team in The Great Cardening of 2009.  Can you feel the excitement?  The losingest team in professional sports history, but the defending World Series champions, the Philadelphia Phillies!!!!!

We’ll divide ’em up by superstars first.  So Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins, Chase Utley, Cole Hamels, and legends like Mike Schmidt and Steve Carlton will be in their own categories.  Then we’ll do hits and numbered cards.  Then inserts and finally base, by year on each I guess.  To make it easier to tell where one card ends and another begins, I’ll alternate between regular and italic as well.  Sound good?  We’ll see how it turns out. I’m pretty much doing this on the fly tonight since I forgot to set it up last night, so if you have any suggestions to improve things for later teams, please do leave a comment.

Onward!

I’ve read the blues had a print run of only 25 and I did get the same number of them as red parallels that are #’ed /50 (2 of each) in the box I bought last year while getting way more of the higher numbered greens and purples.  I don’t know for sure though.  Not that it matters much, just thought it was worth mentioning.

And we are done!  Hit me up in the comments section if you want some Phillies.

Once the Phils are whittled down by half or more, the Yankee Stadium Legacy cards will be up for the taking, followed by a very ridiculous number of Yankees themselves.
