Old New Sketch Cards

As the title states, most of these were originally drawn in 2011, and it took me until almost a week ago to finally get around to coloring (and in some cases, inking) them.  So we might as well take a looksie at them on the ol’ blogaroonie.  It never stopped me before, but be aware there be edited nekkidness at the end of this post.  So if you don’t wish to see it, stop reading this post after the sixth card.

Green Lantern Guy Gardner..

First up is the Green Lantern known as Guy Gardner.  He’s kind of a douche, but I sure did color him nice.

The Punisher..

Batting second is a slickly-shaded Punisher.  A little too slickly-shaded for how mediocre the sketch originally was, but that probably goes without saying.  I am who I am, after all.

Hawkman..

Hawkman has never been a great or terribly interesting character, but one of the very few complaints I have about the DCAU is that they turned him into a kinda creepy weirdo stalker.

Firestorm..

Batting cleanup is the surpringly well-represented in cartoon form Firestorm.  Dig that Kirby Krackle in the background.  It’s much, much easier to make with marker than pen, by the way.  My hand is grateful.

Nightwing..

Screw dat red bullshizz, Nightwing wears blue.  You’d have to pay me at least double to commission any New52 character designs.  New52 is the brown streak on the freshly cleaned underwear of DC Comics.

Vampirella..

Ah, I was coloring so well until I got to her face. *le sigh*

Rogue..

Yep.  There you go.  Nekkid Rogue.  Someday the unedited version will probably make it to deviantArt or something.  Or you could buy it and have the poorly drawn lady parts all to yourself.

Out of the Night, When the Full Moon is Bright…

Lady Zorro bustin’ out..

Here’s a sketch card from a set I never would have expected in a million years, and yet here we are.  This comes from The Women of Zorro by 5finity.  I assume the characters all come from the comics.  I know there have been Zorro comics off & off for the past 20 or so years anyway, though I’ve never really read any.  I picked up the ridiculously huge Humble Dynamite Bundle yesterday, even though I really shouldn’t have due my precarious levels of brokeness, and there are several Zorro comics in it, including a Zorro/Django crossover I’m desperate to give my away my extra Bob’s Burgers #1s in order to unlock.

But anyway, this is one of the best looking sketch cards from the set I’ve come across, and it only set me back $10.50.  Maybe I’ll grab the other three characters represented in the set if I can find ones this nice for a similar price.

I was going through the old scan folders that were still on this computer and editing the sketch cards into into individual pics for posting on The Sketch Card Page, so I thought I’d toss ’em up in a blog post while I was at it.  Enjoy.

Starfire..

Dunno who this one is by.  I literally only started keeping track since the last two or three sketch card-related posts.  Great card though.  I think it was a pick up from some charity thing.  Well worth the couple bucks I paid, and then some.

Whoa!  Sexytime Dani Moonstar.  I won a pair of commissions from MRam on eBay.  Figured I might as well go for the nudity since that’s what he’s known for anyway.  Dani and the next card were who I chose.  Both are edited for obvious NSFW reasons.

These last three come from an epic several person sketch card trade in a Facebook group.  I know I posted the cards I did for everyone else, but it doesn’t appear I ever got around to showing what I got in return.

We all did a sketch card for each other (in one case, we did two apiece).  It was a good way to do get experience by doing a lot of different cards (8 total) in a short amount of time, and get exactly what you wanted in return.  And in return, I got Ravens.  Lots and lots of Ravens.  Mwahahahaha…

And the best one of all was this magnificent Ashleigh Popplewell classic.  I believe I did a Jareth from Labyrinth in return for this.

The Culinary Mad Scientist Returns!- Eggo Omelette Edition

That’s right, EGGO omelette. I basically threw something resembling southwest omelette fixins between two Eggos and heated ’em. It’s really that simple. I have card posts, but this just happened to happen, and it’s my blog, so let’s eat!

Just grab a couple Eggos or waffles or whatever you like. Even make ’em from scratch if you want. You may wish to to send ’em through the toaster before you nuke your mix.

Lay down some cheese of your choice on one Eggo and chop up some of your favorite omelette fixins and sammich it all together and pop it in the microwave until hot enough for your liking. Took about a minute for me, but microwave times and how you do the waffly goodness may vary. I suppose if you could probably cut the microwave out entirely if you put it together quick enough after toasting or something. The melty cheeze helps hold it all in place to a degree though, so I dunno for sure though.

I used tomatoes, jalapenos, a pinch of habanero, and mushrooms. Also a lil Franks Xtra Hot and crushed red pepper, because my jalapenos were pretty weak this time around. But anyway, yeah, that’s about all there is to it.

This post was more pathetically short and pointless than I realized when I started it, so here’s a card of Pamela Anderson.  Enjoy.

Post Fail & a Poll

Damn, I had at least two more posts planned for the weekend, but my furkkin’ computer arbitrarily decided “No more editing scans for you, Mr.”  So I got nothin’.  But seeing the Benchwarmers still up there gives me an idea to try out for a poll.

If the results are favorable, maybe Benchwarmers on Saturday mornings might become a regular thing here, like Waxaholic’s cheerleaders on Sunday.  Well, till I run out of new cards in 4-6 weeks. 😛
